2007 Back-to-School Shopping Spree Sweepstakes
Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
To Enter:
The 2007 Back-to-School Shopping Spree Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") begins on July 10, 2007 and ends on September 30, 2007, at 11:59 p.m. (ET) ("Sweepstakes Period"). You will be automatically entered into the Sweepstakes when you complete the Sweepstakes entry form (including all mandatory questions) located at http://www.familyeducation.com/sweepstakes/entry-form.html and clicking on the "Submit" button upon completion. All entries become the exclusive property of Family Education Network ("FEN") and will not be returned. You understand that by submitting an entry (1) you are accepting the terms of these Official Rules and agreeing to be bound by them, and (2) you are opting-in to receive the FEN Special Offers for Parents Newsletter, a free periodic electronic newsletter offered by FEN. You may enter the Sweepstakes as many times as you wish but you are limited to one entry per calendar day during the Sweepstakes Period. FEN is a division of Pearson Education, Inc.
Eligibility:
The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. The following persons are not eligible to enter the Sweepstakes: (a) employees and officers of any organizations directly involved with this promotion, including any co-sponsor of the Sweepstakes; (b) employees of Pearson Education, Inc., its affiliates and subsidiaries; and (c) immediate family members and persons living in the same household as the persons identified in (a) and (b) above. Only entrants logging onto the Internet from within the 50 United States and the District of Columbia are eligible to enter the Sweepstakes. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. FEN reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry if it concludes that the entrant has tampered with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or has acted in violation of these Official Rules or any applicable state, federal, or local laws or regulations.
Prize:
Grand Prize: One Grand Prize winner will receive one or more American Express Gift Cheques totaling Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000) in the aggregate.
The prize may not be transferred, substituted, or exchanged except by FEN and then only for a prize of equal or greater value. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES THAT MAY ACCRUE FROM THE PRIZE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRIZE WINNER.
Winner Notification:
The prize winner will be selected in random drawings to be held on or about October 1, 2007 from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning a prize will depend upon the number of eligible entries received. The winner will be notified on or about October 31, 2007 by email ("Winner Notice"). The Winner Notice will include information on how the winner can claim their prize. Failure to comply with any rule, regulation or limitation will result in the forfeiture of the prize, in whole or in part.
The Winner Notice will also include a copy of an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity Release ("Affidavit and Release"). Within ten (10) days of receipt of the Winner Notice, the winner shall be required to sign, notarize and return to FEN the Affidavit and Release. The winner must provide their full name, mailing address (the mailing address may not be a PO Box) and social security number in the Affidavit and Release. Failure to sign and return the Affidavit and Release within the time requested may result in forfeiture of the prize. No responsibility is assumed for lost, stolen, late or misdirected mail. The Affidavit and Release is null and void if incomplete, not legible or if they contain errors.
Unclaimed or forfeited prize will not be awarded.

Winner List: For a listing of the prize winner, send a self addressed, stamped envelope (VT residents may omit return postage) to: The 2007 Back-to-School Shopping Spree Sweepstakes, Family Education Network, 501 Boylston Street, Suite 900, Boston, MA 02116, or email your request, including your name and address, to contests@fen.com, by no later than October 31, 2007.
General Conditions:
The Sweepstakes will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the United States. By entering this Sweepstakes, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of FEN on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. By entering the Sweepstakes, all entrants consent to the use of their names, addresses, likeness, and any statements they make in connection with the Sweepstakes or about FEN in general without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. FEN may request, at FEN's sole discretion, that the entrant/winner provide any of the foregoing information to FEN. Entrants and winner also consent to being contacted by FEN or a representative of FEN or a third party with whom FEN has a relationship regarding one or more of FEN's or third party's products and/or services .
Limitations of Liability:
By entering the Sweepstakes, participants agree to release Pearson Education, Inc. and all co-sponsors of the Sweepstakes and their respective affiliates, parents and subsidiaries, and their respective employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, "Sponsor Entities") from any and all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to person or property that may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of a prize or with participation in this Sweepstakes. By entering this Sweepstakes, entrants agree that no claim relating to such injuries, damages, or losses shall be asserted against any of the Sponsor Entities. Entrants agree that none of the Sponsor Entities shall be liable for any injury or damage to any person's computer hardware, software, or peripherals utilized in participating in the Sweepstakes. None of the Sponsor Entities are responsible for technical, hardware, software, or other communication failures of any kind, whether caused by any of the Sponsor Entities, users, or by any equipment, programming, or other cause, whether or not such failures limit an entrant's ability to participate in the Sweepstakes. If for any reason (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes), the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these Official Rules, FEN shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes.
FEN reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds has tampered with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, or who has acted in violation of these Official Rules or any applicable state, federal, or local laws or regulations, or is acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, FEN AND ITS AGENTS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE SUCH PERSON AND/OR SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
