Family Travels: Writing About a Special Journey
Print this page and take it home. With your family members, talk about a journey you have taken or would like to take together. Or have family members share their memories of special trips they have taken. Choose one of the journeys and, with your family members' help, write a brief description of the trip. Include as many details as you can to help explain why this trip was or would be so special. Be sure to answer the following questions:
- Where did/would you go?
- How did/would you get there?
- What did/would you do at your final destination?
- Why is this trip so special?
If possible, add photographs or drawings that show different parts of the journey. Then share your description with classmates. Together, you may want to display your work on a bulletin board of "Class Travels," including a world map showing the final destination of each trip.
