Back to Fantasy Flight

All Bottled Up!

Fly with me to the world of the ordinary things you see everyday. Sometimes the coolest things can be right around the corner or in front of you. You just need a little imagination to find them!

We're in for a long flight with this story, so make sure you're strapped in well! First make a bookmark for this page. You'll need it to get back here. If you don't know how to make a bookmark, ask your teacher.

When you get to the outside website, click on the hands at the bottom of the screen to turn the pages of the story. Check the glossary to look up words you don't know by using the bookmark that says "Fantasy Flight" to come back here. Use the Back button on your browser to return to the story.

Go ahead now and read The Amazing, Spectacular, Ordinary Bottle to see how one boy turns an old bottle into some special things.

When you're finished reading, look around and choose an object you see all the time. It could be a pencil, a telephone, or a stapler. It could be a closet or desk. Then take a moment to imagine something else your object could be, such as a wild animal, a fun place, or a weird thing. Use the questions below to write a short paragraph about your object.

  • What is your object's name?
  • Do people live in it? If so, what do they do?
  • Is your object alive? Can it move? Does it need food?
  • What is your object for?
  • Can it do special things? How?
  • Can other people use your object?
