Web Wise: How to Do an Online Search
In order to find information on the
Internet, you need to know how to do an online search. Let's
suppose you want to find out about the electric light and its
inventor. To do so, follow these steps.
- Print out this Web page to use as a guide.
- Go to the Yahooligans! Web guide. This Web guide helps you find information even if
you don't know the address of a website where it can be found.
- Once you get to the Yahooligans! home
page, locate the search window to the left of the Search button.
- Type the following words as search terms:
electric , light, and inventor. Then press
Return or click Search.
- Now it's time to choose a site from among
your search results the list of sites containing your
search terms. Click one of the hotlinks for "Thomas Alva Edison National Historic Site."
- On the first menu
in the Edison National Historic Site home page, click Education.
On the Education page, click Edison's Top Three Inventions. Then
click The Electric Light to read about this invention.
